A few words of the author
The idea for this site come to me in 1999., shortly before the bombardment. I was living in a total darkness and the internet was the only "window" that enabled me to see the outer world. I was driven by an immense desire to explain to the world that Yugoslavia wasn't just some brown-green surface on the map, a synonym for "politics". I wanted everyone to know that it was a place where mountains rose, where people sang and danced, worked and created, loved...
Writing about Yugoslavia, then had been biting off more than I could chew. With the help from Ferial Union, in the end of 1999., I had built a little site about hostels. However, the lack of hostels and a very slow developement of the hostel business got in the way between possibility and ambition. The only way was to built this site. Welcome! Bojana Djukic

Where from and when it was collected
This website's structure was done in imitation of the site www.interrailer.com. The better part of the chapter titled "preparation" was also transleted and adapted from this site. Our second important source of information was the site host.sezampro.yu/freebiking. The rest of the material was collected somewhere from the Internet as well as from various books, brochures, etc. Some of the data used here, especially the one concerning the accomodation, hadn't been checked and it should've been, having in mind that it was collected long time ago. However, we found it would be better to present it.

"The freedom of informing"
Having in mind that the site is totally independent, we will feel free to state the facts. That means that we will write about the real situation no matter how "they" want us to belive it is. We have noticed that there are many touristic allowances for students that haven't been presented to them enough (on purpose or accidently), as well as that some of them are very often just a "virtual" propaganda material! We will try not to bride any delusions as long as our site is not endangered by their revelation.
