expenses
How much money you bring with you depends on hoe much you
have. It is better to shorten your journey if you don’t have
enough money. You should plan how much money you are going
to spend each day. If you spend more than you had planned
one day, you’ll have to economize next day.
Cash
When you travel, put the money in several different places
(don’t forget where you have put it), and carry only the small
amount in your hands.
Credit cards
Here, in Serbia, you will not be able to use them a lot. We
are still, as the foreigners like to call us, a "cash-only
society". But, things are getting better every day. Those
who plan to travel abroad can rely on credit cards. Peter’s
experience:” Ever since the day I’ve got my job, I’m a proud
owner of VISA credit card. It is very simple and you can use
it almost anywhere. If you want to transfer cash on your account
be careful because, bank gets a percentage. Just sign and
you will get a report of the state on your account next month.
If there is a mistake just appeal and it will be settled.
If someone steals your card or if you lose it, inform the
bank about it right away. However, you shouldn’t rely only
on your credit cards.”
American-Express-Travel-Cheques
“ Personally, I have never used them but my friends have.
You can get the new ones if you lose them. They can be bought
at almost every bank and most of them will cash them in a
domestic currency.” (Peter)
Euro cheques
“ It is not that easy to get your money if you have Euro cheques.
The person behind a counter will first take a look at your
passport, than he will make you sign something, than he will
compare you to the picture in your passport again and that’s
when you finally get your money.” (Peter) |
