Fuel
On the main traffic centers and in big towns some gas stations work non-stop every day. In Serbia, gas is being sold for dinars and in Motenegro for a foreign currency only. At almost all gas stations you can buy all kinds of fuel and motor-oils of the domestic and foreign production( 95-98 octane-super, lead-free 95 octane, 86 octane-premium, diesel D2). At the gas stations in big cities and tourist centers drivers can also buy liquid automobile gas.

Insurance
The insurance policies of the signatory countries of “Vehicle Insurance Convention” and the citizens of the other countries must buy an insurance policy on entering Yugoslavia.

Traffic accidents
In case of a traffic accident you should call the traffic police (tel. 92), which will make a report about it. If you are an owner of a vehicle with foreign registration plates it is necessary that you get a confirmation of a damage which you will be asked to show on the border when leaving Yugoslavia.

“Help-Information” service (tel. 987) of Yugoslav Auto-Moto Association is there to offer you tourist help and to help you transport damaged vehicles.

In case an owner wants to leave his or her vehicle with a foreign registration plate permanently, he or she has to report it to the custom duty or to the local AMSJ unit (Auto-Moto Association of Yugoslavia), which will take over from there. In both cases it is important that you take a confirmation of the delivery of the vehicle in order to regulate the formalities in the country in which the vehicle had been registered, more quickly.

If a foreign tourist enters Yugoslavia with the damaged bodywork of his or her vehicle, he or she must solicit to persons in charge on the border, in order to establish the damage and to get a confirmation of it.
