Trains are very slow in Serbia but they are cheaper and more comfortable than buses. They are usually late, but that doesn’t include the international lines. Yugoslav trains are very old and the hygiene is not very good (no comment on toilets), in winter it can happen that there is no heating (try the next wagon), sometimes they suddenly decide to disconnect 1 or two back wagons (and you have to move to the front ones)… However, if you take a look at the price (look at the list of discounts on the right) you will realize that you got more that you paid for. Foreigners may say that our railway network is underdeveloped but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the scheme. If you have enough time, combining trains and trams could be a great adventure!
